THIS YEAR WILL BE BETTER

Smart businesses are now investing in programming staff through performance psychology and neurobics. Either through ignorance or accepting the status quo about their own capabilities, many never discover the secrets to changing their performance or behaviour. This year many companies will linger on the border of great growth and potential yet will never appreciably advance very far because of restricted belief. Some will be holding meetings to discuss increases in production and profits. They will put their staff on courses in the hope that major changes will eventuate. Some will benefit from such moves but unfortunately they will be short lived. What is called for is a psychological approach to the personal development of every employee to show them how to change their thinking patterns. This will involve a radical approach to planning and thinking if businesses really want to see major changes in sales performance in people skills and profits.
Here are a few additional ideas which will bring amazing results.

THINK – GROWTH

To grow the business you need to want to grow then think growth. Firstly affirm your belief that you have the know how to make it happen and then develop the driving need to keep it moving. Look for the fun as well as the challenge. Fun mindedness prevents the negatives creeping in and undoing the new-programmed mind. Once you stop aspiring to greatness you stop the programming process and then your business is likely to stagnate. Management and staff need to be trained to programme to work at their highest potential which is absolutely impossible without a new belief system.

THINK – KICK START YOUR MESSAGE

Think of new ways to kick-start this year and make your message contagious. Make your message viral. What was the last movie you saw? Where did you source the information about it? The newspaper? A preview? Or was it a friend who had seen it first then told you? Usually it is the latter. This is called network advertising. Your friend saw the movie and couldn’t wait to tell someone. Perhaps it wasn’t a movie your friend saw but a product X and Blah, blah and so on. The “Have you heard about…….” Virus is the most powerful business tool available. Traditional advertising is no longer the powerful mogul it was. What is needed is viral marketing which e-commerce and the Internet are well aware of. Re programme your thinking about marketing your products or services. Develop your own marketing virus.

THINK – DELEGATE

Another aspect of growing the business is reprogramming that neuron in your brain that says you’re the boss. Do this and you will experience great personal growth. Now is the time to take stock. What are your personal strengths? Maybe it’s in the area of sales direction. If so maybe that’s the area in which you should spend more time and hire or promote from within someone else to take over your role. Build trust among your staff new or existing to execute the new role. They must be able to trust you to give them free reign and to know that you will allow them to make mistakes without fear of reprisal

THINK – SOLVING PROBLEMS

Solve problems easily. All it takes is a new mind-set. Stop waiting until there is a problem, and then try to solve it. Be vigilant in the first place and avoid problems where possible. This requires the new mind-set. Einstein once said, “You cannot solve a problem with the same mind-set that got you into the problem in the first place.

The Future is Yours

Hope for the future depends on the path you choose. This is the most critical time in the history of mankind and the future will depend on the choices we as a human race make right now.
Today, instead of inculcating in the mind a desire to strive for achievement, to extend ourselves, to reach our potential, to make sacrifices, to choose what is right, advocates through the media, proffer instant gratification through credit cards and electronic banking. This is what makes it so difficult for parents to teach their children to strive for good. The willingness to achieve is being erased from their minds.

Those who choose to be achievers, opt for a willingness to work for what they want because they believe that the world does not owe them a living – that their future is a matter of choice.
I have researched the lives of many great achievers in history and have discovered that one of the strongest characteristics of genius is the ability to ‘light your own fire’, to make your own decisions.

We are experiencing the most exciting time in history with medical techniques undreamt of a hundred years ago, social benefits our grand-parents would have drooled over, educational opportunities once available only to the chosen few, jet transport, micro computers. The ability to communicate with others on the other side of the world through a hand held cellular phone via satellite stations thousands of miles above the earth’s surface.
Enormous changes are going on in the way the world does business. This has evolved by fast telecommunication, and the global Internet. E-commerce is having tremendous impact on businesses and individual lives. In the 1980’s no one had heard of the Internet. By 2000 over 360 million people worldwide had access to it and today that number is growing at astronomical figures. The potential is enormous.

Jump at Each Opportunity

You can decide to be a winner or a loser. However, what you choose is not just going to happen, you must make it happen. What is the secret of success? There is no easy secret, and you must jump at each opportunity. You may ask, “How can I tell when my opportunity comes?” “Sometimes you can’t, you just keep jumping.”
The problem for many people is the critic within them. Any time they come across a good idea or an opportunity that could really change their life, they find some negative aspect to it or some fault or weakness. Turn the impossible or the challenges in your life into probabilities by looking for the possibilities.

The Principles For Success

Albert Schweitzer wrote: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. ” Unfortunately, some people don’t really like what they do, and look on what they do for a living solely as a form of an income only. They keep hoping some opportunity will come along and release them from their dull and limiting and in many cases unhappy existence. A great number of people don’t know how to go about seeking opportunities whereby they could change their daily lives and make them more exciting. Yet, to find an opportunity you need to be constantly looking for it. Dr Eduard de Bono states: “Everyone is surrounded by opportunities, but they only exist once they have been seen. And they will only be seen if they are looked for.” He adds, “The same as, is the killer phrase that is used to quash any new idea by suggesting that it is not new at all and hence has already been tried and is not worth considering. This focuses on the similarity between the proposed new idea and an old idea instead of on the difference.”

One of the common traits among successful people is their willingness to be open to new ideas in fact what made most of them successful was in their ability to create new ideas people such as Steve Jobs, founder of the Apple Ipod.

People who adopt a happy approach to their life and work, subscribe to similar principles of success they hold in common. The following quotation about success, was written by Kansas poet Bessie Stanley in 1905: “They have achieved success who have lived well, laughed often and loved much; who have gained the respect of intelligent people and the love of little children; who have filled their niche and accomplished their task; who have left the world better than they found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who have never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who have always looked for the best in others and given them the best they had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.”

Here is a set of success principles anyone can readily follow without compromising themselves. Because what Bessie Stanley is saying is to be successful is first to look outside of ourselves and focus on making others become successful whether that is in loving others or looking for the best in others or simply encouraging them.

Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises. Unfortunately many people never discover the excitement of an opportunity because they allow their own or others to cloud their judgment. In his best selling book “The Wave 3,” author Richard Poe so eloquently described the coming revolution of success opportunities for everyone. But success does not come automatically. To discover some opportunity which will impact on your future you must make it a deliberate conscious effort. Sometimes it is because people are either too busy surviving or who just exist and don’t really live life. Not so Montgomery Ward (1843-1913) who kept looking for opportunities. He was the retail magnate most noted for his innovation in mail-order catalogues for department stores. Working as a door-to-door salesman for a dry-goods wholesaler, he noted the disparity between the cash prices farmers received and high retail store prices. In 1872, he produced a single-sheet catalog of farming equipment at reasonable prices–the first of its kind. The catalog’s popularity was immediate, growing to 150 illustrated pages in just four years. More than a decade later, sales reached $1 million. Montgomery Ward exists today as an online catalogue.
